An easy crossword should feel like a conversation, not an exam. The puzzles on this page use words people actually say, and the default clues point straight at the answer: a short definition, a fill-in-the-blank, or a description a child or a tired adult can picture right away.
There are two kinds here. The themed puzzles are criss-cross grids built around one topic, such as a season, a holiday or a group of animals, with 10 to 14 answers that all belong together. Knowing the theme gives you a head start on every clue. The numbered Easy Crossword series uses classic symmetric grids, 9x9 and 11x11, filled with ordinary words from the kitchen, the garden and the calendar.
Easy is a setting, not a ceiling. Every puzzle also has Medium and Hard clues on the same grid, so once the easy version feels quick you can switch the toggle and solve the same shape with trickier wording. Going the other way works too: if a Medium clue stalls, flip to Easy for a moment and flip back.

Start with the 9x9 grids in the numbered series or a themed puzzle you already know something about. Read all the clues once before writing, fill in the sure ones, then let the crossing letters do the work on the rest.
Playing online, use Check on a single word rather than the whole puzzle, so you only see what you asked about. On paper, a pencil keeps early guesses easy to fix, and the answer key on page two is there for the end, not the middle.
